Our longstanding and employed team work to extremely high standards to deliver thorough inspections and timely survey reports to rival even the largest agencies and online firms.
We are a local firm with local knowledge and experience whose surveyors live and work in the areas they survey. All of our surveyors are employed by Your Local Surveyor.
In addition to our employed staff we work with many local sub-contractors who make up a valuable part of our business such as Structural Engineers, Architects, planning specialists, Building Surveyors, Asbestos specialists and project managers. This enables us to work together to add real value to our surveys and provide a service to our customers that cannot be rivalled.
What you won’t get from Your Local Surveyor are automated emails, excuses and reports littered with caveats. We are not a marketing firm or web agency. We are a small independent practice. Fully insured and RICS regulated.

Simon Slack AssociateRICS, RICS Registered Valuer
Simon was borne into the building trade and has successfully brought, personally renovated and sold numerous properties. A qualified surveyor, valuer and electrical engineer with the capability to plumb, plaster, build and wire make for a very knowledgeable and hands on Building Surveyor. Simon undertakes residential surveys for all building types from non-standard construction to grade 2 listed dwellings.
Simon lives in Melbourne with his Children, partner and their 3 rescue dogs.
David Seymour Building surveyor Director BSc (hons), MSc, AssocRICS, Registered Valuer
David is an experienced and qualified residential building surveyor and registered Valuer with extensive experience in the residential surveying marketplace. With years of experience David can guide and assist our clients with future plans and concerns that will enhance the survey features add real value to the inspection.
